Chapter Chapter 6 in An Empirical Study of SOE Corporate Governance Attributes for Emerging Markets, 2023, pp 167-195 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The study of state ownership and its impact on firm performance has had inconclusive findings and, therefore, remains a matter of much debate in the finance literature (Ang and Ding, Journal of Multinational Financial Management 16:64–88, 2006). As discussed in the literature review chapter, while much literature has been published on state ownership, there still needs to have a more scientific understanding of the impact of the actions of the government toward its linked firms.
