Abstract:
Abstract Environmental pollution has started to affect and threaten human health. Cost of not investing in the conservation capital includes environmental pollution and climate change. These costs or adverse consequences have their domino effects hindering sustainable development and harming human health. Not investing in the conservation capital or not effective investments in the conservation capital can cause increase in the healthcare expenses of countries hindering their development and harming well-being and welfare of their people. There is a need for effective conservation capital investment and policies to reduce healthcare expenses and support global sustainable development. Based on an in-depth literature review, this chapter aims to investigate the relationship between conservation capital investment and healthcare expenses as well as between conservation capital policies and healthcare policies. Furthermore, the impacts of healthcare expenses on sustainable development of the countries will be examined. Recommendations will be provided for enhancing the effectiveness of conservation capital and policies in reducing healthcare expenses of countries. Researchers, academics and policy-makers are expected to get benefit from this chapter.
