Abstract:
Abstract More than 250 emerging technologies have been identified by researchers in the fourth industrial revolution space. However, literature points out that the main fourth industrial revolution technologies revolve around 3D printing, Internet of things (IoT), Artificial intelligence (AI), Big data analytics tools, Cloud computing, Machine learning, Robotics and autonomous robots, Quantum computing, Biotechnology, Advanced materials such as graphene, Blockchain technologies, Augmented reality and Virtual reality, System integration, Cyber security, Simulation, and Digital twin. The greatest strengths that have been identified in the fourth industrial revolution are the ability of technologies to reinforce each other, and their integration/ interconnectedness. For the purposes of the treatise, technologies deemed to be crucial in the entreprise risk management process include supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised, and reinforcement machine learning, natural language processing, robotic process automation, augmented reality/simulation, and big data analytics. Reinforcement and the ability to integrate are thought to have potential of improving the entreprise risk management process, making decision-making far much quicker, enhanced, and more informed for the stakeholders in the risk management process.
