Abstract: Abstract The understanding that “business as usual” will exacerbate climate change is now widely acknowledged. The escalating levels of greenhouse gas emissions, dwindling reserves of fossil fuels, and the deterioration of land have become impossible to disregard within the realm of conventional economics. Extensive research is currently being conducted on various alternatives, with some promising options emerging that have the ability to replace or significantly modify the existing high emission intensity economic model. One of the prospective opportunities is that of the field of Bioeconomy. The theoretical framework of a circular bioeconomy encompasses the use of renewable natural resources in a manner that is both efficient and sustainable, hence facilitating transformative changes in various areas including land use, food production, health, and industry. The primary goal is to achieve long-term economic well-being while simultaneously fostering a mutually beneficial coexistence with the natural environment.
