Chapter Chapter 2 in Leading Organizations of the Future, 2023, pp 25-45 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Guided by the conceptual framework determined in Chap. 1 , this chapter assimilates, summarizes, synthetizes, and appraises relevant scholarly research on the topic of this study. First, this chapter elucidates how a quick literature search helped establish the research strategyStrategyresearch. Next, this chapter explains that the research strategy entailed a quick conceptual review, a slightly longer state-of-the-art review, and particularized critiques of pioneering texts. Then, this chapter treats pioneering texts in three separate sections on metagovernanceMetagovernance, complexity leadershipLeadershipcomplexity, and sense-makingSense-making: each section investigates what scholarly research has found and examined apropos the topic of the study; each section identifies limitationsLimitation(s) to make the case that the study is necessary to fill gaps.
