Abstract:
Abstract (a Chaudhuri in International Statistical Institute Proceedings of the 58th World Statistics Congress, Dublin, pp 1939–1947, 2011a.) started with (Godambe in J Royal Statist Soc B 17:269–278, 1955) homogeneous linear unbiased estimator $$t_{b} = \sum\nolimits_{i = 1}^{N} {y_{i} b_{si} I_{si} }$$ for $$Y = \sum\nolimits_{i = 1}^{N} {y_{i} }$$ in a DR survey with $$I_{si} = 1 {\text{ or }} 0 {\text{ if }} i \in s or i \notin s$$ , $$b_{si}$$ free of $$y_{i}$$ ’s in $$\underline{Y} = \left( {y_{1} , \ldots ,y_{i} , \ldots .,y_{N} } \right)$$ subject to $$\sum\nolimits_{s \mathrel\backepsilon i} {p\left( s \right)b_{si} = 1 \forall i \in U} .$$
