Launching the Initiative
George Watt
Chapter Chapter 11 in The Lean Entrepreneurship Playbook, 2024, pp 377-420 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Congratulations! You’re here. You’re ready. You have designed your initiative and set a long-term vision. You have assembled your minimum viable Initiative Team and Governance Team. You have begun spreading the word about your initiative and ramping up interest. Teams, observers, and champions are curious, excited, and perhaps even anxious. Potential participants want to pitch and start incubating, the Governance Team wants to select ideas, and people are beginning to expect progress and results. This chapter overs the activities required to prepare and launch your initiative. It includes tips for capturing ideas and bringing incubating teams into the initiative, and for priming the initiative to give it a running start and, potentially, some additional funding. It also discusses the key ceremonies required for idea selection, ongoing operation, and supporting and governing incubating teams.
