Evaluating and Developing Your Team
Raphael Neves
Chapter Chapter 6 in The Engineering Leadership Playbook, 2024, pp 295-346 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract If you have reached this final chapter, you are now equipped with crucial skills to adapt your leadership style and create an environment where people can thrive. However, even the most cohesive teams will only succeed with an efficient talent evaluation system. Why is it so essential? Because relying on vague notions of "success" obscures individuals' accurate contributions. Without formal feedback processes, poor performers go unaddressed, top talent becomes frustrated, and leaves and mediocre work are rewarded—even experienced leaders at all levels struggle with this.
