Evaluating Generative AI Use Cases: A Comprehensive Framework
Rohan Sharma
Chapter Chapter 25 in AI and the Boardroom, 2024, pp 315-327 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents a strategic framework for evaluating Generative AI use cases by focusing on financial impact, disruption potential, and ease of adoption. Instead of just financial projections, it encourages leaders to also consider how AI might disrupt business models, operating procedures, or even competition. This broader view helps prioritize high-impact opportunities while balancing risk and feasibility. Take, for example, a business deciding where to integrate Generative AI. Beyond revenue estimates, they should assess how it will impact their products, require workforce changes, or disrupt the competition. Will it be easy to adopt, or are there significant barriers like regulatory hurdles?
