Vibrant Culture

David J. Asher

Chapter Chapter 5 in Mastering the Complex World of Software Management, 2024, pp 87-103 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We all want to work in an environment where our efforts and skills are appreciated, where we can work productively with little frustration, where we feel safe in doing our work and interacting with others, where we have a shared sense of purpose, and where we have confidence that our organization’s leaders are behaving responsibly and guiding our growth. This kind of culture doesn’t happen by accident. You and your cohort of managers must exert deliberate effort, else the results may be a descent into an unpleasant and disorganized and unproductive mess. It takes work to build and keep a vibrant culture.
