The Importance of Authenticity: Maintaining Trust with Your Audience

John Biggs and Jessa Moore

Chapter Chapter 10 in Influencer Boot Camp, 2025, pp 205-219 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the world of endless marketing, where followers can quickly spot inauthenticity, staying true to who you are is not just a nice-to-have—it's essential. Authenticity is what builds trust, keeps your audience engaged, and ultimately makes your influence valuable. Today’s audiences are smart. They can tell when something feels off or when an influencer is simply pushing a product for the sake of a paycheck. If you want to keep your followers loyal and maintain credibility, you have to be real with them.
