Scoping the First Build (Without Losing the Plot)

Anusha Ravi () and Nitika Malhotra ()

Chapter Chapter 3 in Launching Enterprise Products, 2026, pp 21-26 from Springer

Abstract: AbstractSo what have we done so far? We have defined the problem very clearly, and we have gotten the stakeholders excited and engaged, too. So, that's it. You are in the clear. Let's go build. Well—almost, but not quite. Any product building is like playing Russian roulette. You could have defined an obvious problem, validated it with the users, and thought it was a slam dunk. But at the time of launch, it could still be a hit or miss. Building too quickly and taking user feedback verbatim can steer you away from your north star, while being too slow lands you in analysis paralysis.
