Abstract The annexation of Crimea, the warfare in Syria, the financial involvement in Cyprus, the tug-of-war over Ukraine and Belarus, and the naming of Sputnik 5 for the vaccine against the coronavirus epidemic are clear evidence of the current Russian quest for power and its expansionist policy.
