Chapter 28 in Realizing Organizational Effectiveness, 2024, pp 97-98 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Once an applicant has been offered and accepted a job within an organization, in is incumbent on that organization to do all within its power to ensure a successful transition to a productive employee. The importance of ensuring that each and every new employee joining an organization’s team is thoroughly and properly prepared should never be assumed or taken for granted. While a new employee’s immediate supervisor, and oftentimes the new employee’s coworkers, have an essential role to play in the successful orientation and onboarding of the new employee, organizations cannot afford to leave this essential matter to chance.
