Chapter 7 in Linear Algebra for Economists, 2011, pp 107-122 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we will analyse how various metric concepts, such as the length of a vector, the angle between two vectors etc., are related to linear spaces. It is to be noted that one cannot directly define these concepts in linear spaces, since first a dot product for a given linear space should be defined.
