Macroeconomic Adjustment
Peter Dorman
Chapter 6 in Macroeconomics, 2014, pp 119-138 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In macroeconomics, no news is usually good news. When issues like unemployment, inflation and financial stability are far from anyone’s mind, and when business and economics stories in the media are almost entirely about which companies are doing what to whom, it’s a sign that the system as a whole is functioning relatively well. Unfortunately, in recent years the US and world economies seem to be perched on the edge of a precipice, and the main item in economic reporting is whether and where further disaster will strike.
