Abstract:
Abstract Managed Care also led to various forms of organisations constituted by providers of health care services. In addition to traditional models such as Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) which defend the physicians interests, Prefered Provider Organizations (PPOs) that represent sales cooperatives and classical network structures and Integrated Delivery Systems (IDS), two new organisational forms have developed. On one hand, so called Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) have been established that are in charge of health care provision for specific populations. On the other hand Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) focus on care delivery on the GP-level.
