Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides the basics of the elementary logic. The key concepts, ideas, and topics that are discussed, among others, include: (i) Sentential connectives; (ii) Truth tables of sentential formulas; (iii) Notions of tautology, contradiction, and logical equivalence; (iv) Three proof methods, namely, Direct Proof, Proof by Contradiction, and Conditional Proof; (v) Existential and Universal quantifiers; (vi) Validity and invalidity of inferences.
