Chapter 13 in Action and Choice, 2022, pp 209-226 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Economic imperialism is the attempt of dismal scientists to “capture” the intellectual territory of other disciplines. Foremost amongst such economic imperialists is Gary Becker. He applied economic method to all sorts of sociological issues: marriage, divorce, crime, the decision to have children, racial and sexual discrimination, family organization, deviance, fertility, friendship, addiction and much more.
