Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 7 provides a quantitative analysis of Intercountry Adoptions (ICAs) to the United States (U. S.). The analysis of ICAs is possible because, unlike in other areas of adoption there are national ICA data. Immigration data document that an immigrant is admitted for purposes of adoption. Data used are historical data from prior researchers for data prior to the 1970s and current data from the U.S. State Department’s Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is the repository for the earlier INS data, 1971–1995.
