Abstract:
Abstract This chapter outlines the sites both within Vietnam and abroad where ceramics of the Lê dynasty warlord period are found, and through a comparison with those ceramics found in the Vân Đồn region and in Phố Hiến, an examination is made of each port’s role. Also, the results of surveying the hoard unearthed in the northern portion of Vietnam are assessed within the history of Vietnamese currency, and based on the conditions of these hoard, as well as a the background conditions of ceramics being exported from northern Vietnam, a consideration is made of the reasons for Đại Việt receding from the Asia maritime trade network.
