Chapter Chapter 1 in History of the British Empire from Asian Perspectives, 2025, pp 1-10 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides new perspectives on the relationships between the British Empire and changes in the current world economy led by Asian regions, while focusing on the situation in South Asia, with rapidly growing India as a major economic power within the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and the Global South. It considers a crucial fact that understanding the history of the British Empire is essential to understanding modern globalization, while referring to the current state of modern British society, its international influences, research on globalization, and the so-called “American Empire” in the context of global history.
