Chapter Chapter 16 in Do They Walk Like They Talk?, 2009, pp 279-290 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this conclusion, we first provide a summary of the main theoretical and empirical conclusions reached by the contributors to this volume. Then, we argue that the empirical study of dissonance in policy processes must not only investigate whether policy makers do what they say but also whether what they say corresponds to what the public wants. In our concluding remarks, we ask the question whether dissonance is always pathological.
