Chapter 1 in Customizing Public Transport, 2026, pp 1-6 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Globally, urban mobility systems are undergoing significant change as a result of innovative business models, shifting user preferences, environmental demands, and technological advancements. Demand-responsive transit (DRT) and autonomous mobility on demand (AMOD) are two related ideas that have become very popular during these changes. With fewer set routes and timetables and more adaptable, flexible services that react instantly to user demands, these strategies mark a fundamental rethinking of public transportation.
