Information Technologies as a Key Element in Increasing Labor Productivity in Tourism

Abstract: Nowadays, information technology is a "synthesis of electronic and computational technologies from telecommunications" that enables effective communication and data processing in time and space. Online environment is an ideal mean of promotion of tourism product, a global environment of disseminating information that anyone can access from anywhere in the world at affordable prices. The main objective of this paper is to examine the impact of modern information technologies on the growth of labor productivity in tourism and as a secondary objective, the availability of Moldovan tourism market in regard to E-commerce and E-tourism. A relevant aspect of the research is the need to automate the work processes and optimization of staff, as payroll expenses of labor is an expenditure category with a very large share in total revenues generated by a tourism company.
