Abstract:
The keynote presentation will address the following: • research and innovation: synergism with the European and regional strategic agendas; • human capacity building: tools for promoting scientific excellence; • the creativity of young as a tool for social inclusion; • Green University: University of Bari as an example Through a new policy, the UNIBA wants to redeem its human sources and its scientific excellences to become a main source of ideas, project plans and high quality education into the context of the European innovation but with a strong regional and national accent. At regional level Apulia region has proposed the document SmartPuglia2020 which represents a perspective view on a smart, inclusive and sustainable use of technologies. Universities through the ‘Third Mission’ reported in its programmatic document (Piano Strategico di Ateneo), meets the challenge of the SmartPuglia2020 establishing interaction with public institutions, private subjects and local associations to promote agreements in terms of education, information, scientific divulgation and innovation transfer. Moreover the University of Bari focused on environmental protection, (140 place out of 361 University in GreenMetric Ranking 2014) creating a committee for Environmental Policy and the Quality of Life (COPAQ), and, first in Italy, credited as Education Center and Environmental Experience (CEEA Concerning the improvement of human resources, UNIBA, with the project ‘FUTURE LAB’, a contamination lab where ‘knowledge contamination’ processes are supported in order to impact on business initiative and innovation culture, aims to nurture the talents of young people. A different University for a different future.
