Abstract: In our study, we aim at collecting and analysing the basic phenomena related to the umbrella concept of the fourth industrial revolution that was identified as the main source and driver of changes by the World Economic Forum at its 2016 Annual Meeting. Besides people’s lives or governance, the transformations currently under way are substantially affecting businesses as well. Furthermore, we aspire to find links between the EU’s economy and these phenomena, to explain its readiness for the fourth industrial revolution. In the course of our investigations, we are keen on keeping the impacts on business actors in our focus.
