Abstract:
Developing effective integration policies is about investing for the long-term. Integration policies work best when they are designed to ensure coherent systems that facilitate participation and empowerment for everyone in society – third country nationals and the communities into which they settle. Together with social and employment policies, educational policies are a meaningful tool for constructing integrated and cohesive societies. Good educational opportunities are precondition for social inclusion and protection, full participation in social and civic spheres of life, longterm integration into the labour market and prevention of exploitation.
