Abstract: I am noticing that a growing number of children has problems with fine motor skills. Maybe we do not offer children enough planned activities for its development, because we take the use of fingers and palms for granted, or maybe this is just a “problem” of modern times, as children have access to a growing number of electronic toys and choose to entertain themselves with phones and computers instead of growing in the local meadow. Motor development of children is especially important in their preschool period. When we hear this term, we think of motor development of the entire body (gross motor skills) and rarely of the development of small muscle groups in fingers (fine motor skills), which are essential for the development of a child. Early planned introduction of activities for the development of fine motor skills has an important effect on a child’s independence and later literacy and numeracy education. Furthermore, fine motor skill development promotes the development of a child’s brain. For this purpose, I prepared a stimulating learning environment with activities that support the development of fine motor skills, strengthen the small finger muscles, and therefore positively affect later literacy and numeracy education. In such a stimulating learning environment, a child will also make progress in other development areas. All activities are carried out using play. Most activities are permanent and can be carried out by children every day.
