Abstract:
Entrepreneurship day at Secondary technical school Kranj is a traditional door open day. It is the day when the students show their knowledge and achievements on one side and when they get a different kind of knowledge on the other side. The event takes place in the middle of May when the final year students are about to leave school. It changes from year to year a bit, but the idea remains the same: to bring together students, teachers, parents, employers and local community at the same time. The idea originates from our former headmistress and was soon attached to teachers. This year we are hosting the sixth consecutive Entrepreneurship day. The event is located in the main hall and in classrooms. In the main hall there is a fair of final products, designed and made by students for matura examination. In classrooms some of the students present to visitors their project works and other activities they were doing during the school year. At the same time lectures for students take place. The lecturers are employers and other societies which deliver to students’ technical knowledge and social and communication skills. Employers, parents and local communities are invited to the fair, to workshops and to lectures. The role of teachers is to guide and accompany the students. Later the employers meet with the management of the school and make decisions about the future projects for our students and teachers.
