Abstract: The greatest challenge when working with pupils who have autism spectrum disorder is the fact that the pupils are very different from one another. This is also the main reason why we cannot defend a unified method or strategy in their treatment, but we must always adapt to the peculiarities of the individual. Video modelling is a teaching method in which an individual learns certain behaviour or skills by watching a video clip of a model that shows the desired behaviour or skill. Research shows that the method is effective as an intervention especially for children with autism spectrum disorders, as they can view the video as many times as needed to adopt it. We prepared a video for the pupil with autism spectrum disorders and used the video modelling method for learning the skills. We were wondering whether, with the help of the video modelling, he will perform all the steps presented in the video independently, how many steps he will perform independently after the first viewing of the video clip, and how many times he will have to replay the video to perform all the steps independently. The results showed that the pupil performed certain steps independently after the first viewing of the video, and after the fifth viewing, the pupil performed all the steps completely independently. The results show that video modelling is an interesting and educational method that helps the child to adopt the desired skill in a friendly way.
