Abstract: The aim is to describe how the conscious use of the Internet in support of learning activities in Italy takes place: media education and social networks by young and adults Italians, social media policy and professional use social media, collaboration and online communication by young people and adults in Italy; digital citizenship; research, selection and organization of information, collaboration and network communication between the various States. will also describe the organization of work through digital technologies in Italy, the promotion of collaboration and the creation of team work models, the knowledge and management of the digital infrastructure of the education system. The didactic documentation and the enhancement of innovative methodologies, methods and practices will be highlighted through the involvement of the school and local community. The creation of networks and consortia on the provincial, regional and national territory will be described with the respective expected results and the consequent implications. Through this work we want to bring to light the strengths and weaknesses of the use of the internet, comparing the Italian model with that of the other countries of the European Union.
