in Monographs from The WorldFish Center

Abstract: This first bi-annual report covers the period (February - May 2021) of the 18-month USAID-funded project “Accelerating Aquaculture Development in Timor-Leste”, which complements the on-going New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT)-funded 3-year project on Partnership for Aquaculture Development in Timor-Leste Phase 2 (PADTL2). The objectives of the PADTL2 are 1) Strengthen smallholder aquaculture production to Small- and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) level through improved access to high quality inputs (seed, feed) and technology through research, and services (extension and finance), with private sector involvement; 2) Develop and utilize market-based system approaches to increase access to domestic markets and ensure consistent supply of food safe fish and fish products; 3) Develop safe and nutritious fish recipes and products and disseminate guidelines on preparing diverse, wholesome meals to consumers; 4) : Document and disseminate knowledge generated by the project within and beyond the country.
