Abstract: This 16th edition of the wiiw-WIFO database on foreign direct investment (FDI) contains estimated end-2003 data for the Central and East European countries. Estimations are based on the balance of payments for 9 to 11 months. A forecast of FDI inflows in the year 2004 as well as a brief analysis of current FDI trends in CEECs is provided. Special attention is devoted to Austrian direct investments in the region. The sources of data are official publications, usually the National Banks of the respective countries.
