Abstract:
Two case studies are assessed in an attempt to understand in more detail the way in which transport and innovation policy interact in Austria and what kind of mechanisms exist to facilitate the communication between the two policy areas. The first case study concentrates on the RTD programmes in the area of transport technologies, the second one focuses on the transport telematics framework programme. Although the two studies are very different from one another, it is possible to gain a considerable overview of the barriers and problems that exist on the interface between the two policy areas.
