N. N.
in WIFO Studies from WIFO
Abstract:
At the latest conference in Rome in December 2008 growth projections were shown to undergo a significant downward revision. The financial crisis hit Eastern and Western European construction markets equally. In 2009 output is set to decline by 3 percent in both areas compared to 2007. The main difference is that Eastern Europe is expected to recover faster whereas unfavourable conditions will prevail in Western Europe until 2010. The economy should recover in 2011, with an overall growth of about 2 percent in the whole Euroconstruct area. The Euroconstruct construction market research network covers Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. The Country Report includes detailed forecasts, information and trends by sectors.
