Abstract: European construction still did not recover in 2011. Of all the construction sectors, the largest fall from the industry's peak year, 2007, was seen in the construction of new residential buildings. While around 2.5 million new residential buildings were completed in 2007 in the Euroconstruct countries, less than 1.5 million will be completed in 2011. Nevertheless, residential construction will pick up, while non-residential construction and especially civil engineering will continue to decline in Europe in 2011. The Euroconstruct Summary Report contains a macroeconomic analysis and an overview of the European construction industry by sectors (housing, non-residential construction and civil engineering, new and renovation, respectively) up to 2013. The Summary Report additionally includes the speeches and presentations of the 71st Euroconstruct Conference held in Helsinki in June 2011.
