Monitoring Austria's Efforts Within the Europe 2020 Strategy

Abstract: Following the European Commission's guidelines, WIFO has undertaken a monitoring of the implementation of the Austrian National Reform Programme within the framework of the European 2020 growth strategy. The main components are the development of normative target corridors to assess progress in reaching the five EU 2020 headline goals, the attribution of policy measures within the NRP to a framework of economic growth, the development of a structured analysis for the policy measures, which are assessed following identical criteria, and a more thorough evaluation of selected policy measures. The ultimate objective of the project is to pinpoint Austria's position on its way towards meeting the EU 2020 goals and to assess whether the policies implemented may in principle be sufficient to reach the goals.
