Abstract: Die wachsende volkswirtschaftliche Bedeutung von Qualifikation und die beginnende Europäisierung des Bildungsmarktes belegen die große Bedeutung, die der Bildungsexport künftig haben wird. Während die Datenlage es nicht zulässt, das Volumen des Bildungsexports zu schätzen, zeigen Zahlen über ausländische Studierende in Österreich, dass Bildungsexport für die österreichische Volkswirtschaft relevant ist. Die Studie schließt mit der Diskussion über ausgewählte wirtschaftspolitische Aspekte des Bildungsexports.
