Abstract: Im Jahr 2004 analysierte das WIFO erstmals die ökonomische Bedeutung der Wassernutzung (gemäß Art. 5 und Anhang III WRRL) für die Sektoren Landwirtschaft, Produktion und Dienstleistungen, Energieerzeugung, Abwasserentsorgung und Wasserversorgung. Im vorliegenden Projekt wurde die Analyse aktualisiert und ergänzt. Anhand einer Auswahl der Indikatoren wird die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der Sektoren dargestellt. Gegenüber den bisher vorliegenden Berichten wurde die Analyse um drei Sektoren (Fischerei, Hochwasserschutz, Schifffahrt) erweitert.
