Abstract: Austria's overall economic performance remains close to stagnation in 2024, with no significant growth impulses. Construction is under particular pressure from monetary policy and is expected to fall sharply in Austria in 2024, following a significant decline in 2023. Residential construction is at the centre of the current crisis in the construction industry. Slight improvements, also supported by the recent housing stimulus, are not likely until 2025 and 2026.
