in WIFO Studies from WIFO
Abstract:
The recent Euroconstruct conference held in Budapest December 2015 confirmed the ongoing positive economic upswing in the Euroconstruct area. All 19 countries within the network are expected to face a growth in overall economic activity, with an average increase in GDP of 1.9 percent in 2015. Also the construction industry profits from the current positive environment with a forecasted growth in construction output by 1.6 percent in 2015. This is slightly less than compared to the previous forecasts – mainly because of major revisions of the National Statistical Offices, above all in the UK. – The Euroconstruct Country Report provides detailed information on the construction market development and its fundamentals in each of the 19 Euroconstruct member countries until 2018. The forecasts and analyses are presented on the country level and are based on a comparable harmonised dataset for the major construction sectors and indicators. The macroeconomic framework is also included.
