Abstract: The recent construction market forecasts presented at the 83rd Euroconstruct Conference indicate a continuing growth path of the European construction industry. Construction output in the Euroconstruct region expanded by 2.5 percent at constant prices in 2016 compared to the previous year. Construction markets improved in 11 out of 19 countries in 2017, leading to a stronger growth than previously expected. The projections for 2018 and 2019 are also generally favourable, nevertheless uncertainty is increasing and growth is expected to level off at rates of about 2.5 and 2.0 percent, respectively. Hungary, Ireland and the Dutch market are expected to show the highest dynamics while on the other hand construction output in Germany (Europe's largest market) could peak in 2018 and face a decline in 2019 according the latest projections. The Euroconstruct Country Reports provide more detailed information on the construction market trends and its fundamentals in each of the 19 Euroconstruct member countries until 2019. The forecasts and analyses are presented on the country level and are based on a comparable harmonised dataset for the major construction sectors and indicators.
