Chapter 8 in Financial Theory:Perspectives from China, 2015, pp 167-203 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Commercial banks are the oldest and most important financial institutions within the financial system. As for their impact on the average person and the economy as a whole, to date, there has never been another type of financial institutions that could engage in activities as far-reaching as commercial banking and this is because of the features of commercial bank operations and their determined permeability within the economy. This chapter will provide an in-depth introduction to commercial bank operations and management.
