Financial Regulation and Supervision

Xingyun Peng

Chapter 24 in Financial Theory:Perspectives from China, 2015, pp 631-651 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: Financial regulation is one of the primary measures for preventing financial crises and a guarantee for fair and equitable financial transactions. Each and every country across the world, even countries like America which are stout advocates for freedom, will subject their financial sector to stringent government regulations. Though the global wave of financial liberalization has done anything but ebb, financial regulation will never weaken or cease to exist. It is only that amidst the wave of financial liberalization, the regulatory methods and system continue to improve with the development of financial instruments and diversification of financial risks.
