Chapter 1 in Trade and Investment in South Asia:An Analysis, 2019, pp 1-22 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
All member countries of SAARC follow an open and liberal trade and investment policy. The SAARC region has attracted a sizable volume of foreign investment from various parts of the world and also emerged as a significant player in global trade in the very recent period. It is in this connection that this book examines the relationship between trade and foreign direct investment in the SAARC region. This book also explores the intra-regional flow of trade and investment in the SAARC region. Further, it also investigates the role of the government policies responsible for attracting foreign investment and increasing the volume of the trade.
