Chapter 2 in Health Microinsurance:Implementing Universal Health Coverage in the Informal Sector, 2020, pp 17-27 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
The objective of this chapter is to describe the features and challenges of the primary health microinsurance delivery models and the factors contributing to the success of community-based health insurance (CBHI). The models are differentiated based on two dimensions: the main purpose of operating and the responsibility for the risk of losses. The chapter also emphasizes the factors that render CBHI as the best-suited model to deliver microinsurance.
