Chapter 9 in Health Microinsurance:Implementing Universal Health Coverage in the Informal Sector, 2020, pp 197-207 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Community-Based Health Insurance (CBHI) schemes are all about community participation, and the best example of this is the process of benefits package selection. Here we discuss how community members select the benefits package according to their need and willingness to pay through a consensus. The Choosing Healthplans All Together (CHAT) exercise uses an innovative participatory approach for benefits package selection by a community comprising largely illiterate and innumerate persons.
