Chapter 11 in Health Microinsurance:Implementing Universal Health Coverage in the Informal Sector, 2020, pp 243-252 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Our objective is to describe the enrollment activities in community based health insurance (CBHI). The first part of the chapter describes the actions that the CBHI scheme undertakes to enroll participants. The second part deals with conditions that increase the will of the target population to enroll in the scheme. The emphasis on community rating and en bloc affiliation in the CBHI model are discussed. Trust in the scheme and an understanding of the functioning of the scheme are core factors which impact enrollment/renewal in the scheme.
