Abstract: Dear David,You once asked me why the evening news always ends with a report on the day’s stock market activities. Well, the main reason is that many people are interested in the stock market as there’s money to be made or lost there. There’s much more to this of course. In this letter, I will explain in detail what stocks are, the behaviour of stock prices and the kind of news that move stock prices.
